5 Tips to Look AMAZING in Photos!

Are you going to prom soon? A dance party? Or just having a girls night out? I have tips for you on how to look amazing while you are on camera. Guaranteed! So if you know that you are going to be taking a lot of pictures, please do follow these tips! :)

1. Use HD Foundation or NO SPF Foundation

Wondering how sometimes you can look washed out a.k.a super white on the pictures? That is maybe because your foundation has SPF in it. SPF reflects the flashlights from the camera, that's why you look 'white' on the picture. Use a medium to full coverage foundation, and make sure it matches your skin tone well! Blend your foundation into your neck and chest (if they are visible) as well. You want to look "one color" on the picture, right? :) Also, make sure your foundation is long wearing, and it is up to you if you want a matte or glow finish. If you have oily skin, I'd go with a matte foundation (my favorite is Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet and NARS Sheer Matte Foundation). If you have a dry skin or combination skin, I'd go with a dewy foundation, like NARS Sheer Glow foundation. My favorite high-end foundation is Make Up For Ever HD Foundation - it is a medium coverage foundation that gives you an HD finish, and my favorite drugstore foundation is Revlon Colorstay because it is full coverage and long wearing. Fairydrops BB Cream is also made special for looking good in the camera (click here for its review).

2. Blush, Contouring and Highlighting

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, MAC Blush in Pink Swoon and theBalm Mary-Loumanizer Highlighter (click here for review)
Apply your blush more than usual. Even though in real life your blush already looks pigmented in one sweep, sometimes camera can wash it off. So apply more products onto your cheeks, because blush can give you a glowing and youthful look on the picture. I prefer a neutral pink blush because pink looks more natural than coral or peachy pink.

Contouring is also important if you want to look perfect on the picture. It will make your face look slimmer and give it more dimension. I have a post on how to contour, so please check it out if you don't know how to do it yet. Just want to remind you, please use a matte bronzer! Click here to see my Top 5 Bronzers.

Besides contouring, you also want to highlight your certain features like under your eyes, above your cheekbones, eye's inner tear duct, bridge of the nose, cupid's bow, and chin. Why? When the flashlight hits this areas, it will diffuse the light and give you a natural glow on your face, so that you won't look flat because you just create dimension from contouring and highlighting.

3. False Eyelashes

Revlon Beyond Natural False Lashes, Ardell Duralash Individual Lashes, Modlash no. 53
No matter what eye look you have, or how long your eyelashes are, false eyelashes is a must! I personally don't like to wear it, and really use it when I have a big event to attend, or a special day. The reason why is because false eyelashes will really open up your eyes, make your eyes look bigger and your lashes look fuller and longer on the camera. They are really gonna change up your whole look (in a good way of course)! :)

4. Lip Stains and Pink Lipstick

Benefit Posietint, Benefit Cha Cha Tint, Maybelline Color Sensational in Pink Please
Before you put on any lip products, make sure your lip is not chapped or dry. You don't want that on the picture, do you? :) So put on lip balm, wait until it dries, then move on to lip products. You know how lipstick won't stay for a very long time, especially if you are constantly eating, drinking or even talking? Put on lip stain before your lipstick because when your lipstick wear off, you still have lip stain under it. Lip stain gives you 'stain' on your lip, so it sticks on your lip for a long time.

For lipstick, I'd go with a neutral pink lipstick because it goes with almost every outfit. But again, it is up to you what lipstick you want to wear, just make sure you put it in your purse, so that you can touch it up! :)

5. Make-up Setting Spray and Blotting Paper

After you're done with all of your make up, set it up with a setting spray for a long lasting hold. This will  give you a natural finish, so that you won't look cakey, and will hold your makeup for hours without moving anywhere! Lastly, bring blotting papers, especially if you have oily skin. Blot the oil on your face with it, and if you need to touch up, bring pressed powder as well. So, if your skin is oily, never ever touch up with a pressed powder directly without soaking the oil first. Your makeup will look cakey. So, blot the oil on your face first every time you feel your face is oily because you'll never know when your friends want to take pictures with you!

  3. Thank you for your tips. Next time i'm on a night out certainly going to wear a foundation without any SPF although they are getting harder to find with everyone putting it in their foundations so thank you for recommending three. x
