Matte Smokey Brown Look

Hey everyone!

Smokey eyes look is like my signature. Sometimes when I am planning to go for super natural look, I will end up creating a natural, but still smokey look. Smokey look is like my signature look; brown is like my to go color for smokey eyes because brown can look natural, yet dramatic too!

So today I am doing a tutorial on matte brown smokey eyes look. Do you notice that the Kardashian girls love to use matte brown eyeshadows colors? So, if you are a fan of their make up look, here is one of them!

Let's get started...

here is the finished look!

Review: Urban Decay All Nighter

Hey everyone!

I have not done any review yet, but now I decided to do one, which is gonna be Urban Decay All Nighter. It is a long lasting make up setting spray, and it is supposed to hold your make up for 16 hours. It is hard to believe, but as a make up addict, I gotta try it out. Here's what Urban Decay website says about the product:
"Your makeup will last 16 hours! Perfect for all skin types, this ultra-fine mist holds makeup for brides, dancers, and ladies who just like lookin' GOOD.
In an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, we developed thisgroundbreaking, hypoallergenic setting spray that keeps your makeup on for 16 unbelievable hours. Legendary enough that it’s already inspired imitations, All Nighter boasts a patent pending Temperature Control Technology that makes this weightless mist so powerful and sets it far above the competition. Your makeup won’t melt when it's warm and humid or become dehydrated when it’s cold and windy. Yes, it actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place. The sprayer, unlike others on the market, delivers a micro-fine mist that distributes product evenly over the skin."

I work full time in the weekend. By 9 am, I was done with my make up and sprayed Urban Decay All Nighter after, and I arrived home at 12 am. During I was working, I did not do ANY touch up at all. Sometimes I put more chapstick on or blot the excess of the oil from my face, but that's it. No eye liner touched up, and neither did powder. I will show you my make up before I went to work and after I arrived home.

9 AM

12 AM
Surprise?

The eyeshadows were still there too!

Like I said before, I did not do any touch up at all, or edited the pictures. I was pretty surprised when I got home and looked at the mirror.. and directly thought that I should do a review on this.

Urban Decay All Nighter is $29 for 4 oz, and $11 for 0.34 oz. I got mine in Sephora. If you do not have Sephora in your city, you can get it online. Click here to buy 4 oz, and here to buy 0.34 oz.

Urban Decay does not compensate me to write this review. They do not know I exist either LOL. I wrote this review because my readers get the right to know a worth-buying product!

Do you like this look on my eyes? Click here to achieve the look!

So, would you try on this product? :)

Goldly Natural Look

Hey everyone!

I don't know why, but I am really loving a gold look now! I almost use different gold eyeshadows to create different looks every day, and today's blog is one of them. So, please forgive me if the next look will involve a gold eyeshadow again :p (Oh, I think it was because now is still summer! The sun and the heat remind me of gold.. and when the sun reflects your shimmery gold eyeshadows, you will be sparkling!)

Okay let's get started!

Start off with the eyes...

the finished look

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Gold,
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original, Urban Decay Naked Palette, Rimmel Lash Accelerator,
MAC Fluidline in Black Track, MAC Palette in Burmese Beauty

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Half Baked

MAC Eyeshadows in Showstopper

Left: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - Right: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Gold

Stila brush #15, Sigma SS224, Sigma SS222, Sonia Kashuk Bent Eye Liner
  1. Apply eye primer Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original so that your eyeshadows will stay all day long! I do not recommend to apply it directly from the wand because you will waste a lot of product, and you actually don't need that much.
  2. Take NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, and draw a line on your lids. Blend it with your fingers.
  3. Then take NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Gold, and do the same thing as #2. (layers are the key!)
  4. Apply Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Half Baked, and apply it all over your lid with shader brush from Stila brush #15.
  5. Use Sigma SS222, take MAC Eyeshadow in Showstopper in the crease (you can use darker eyeshadow if you want a darker look, but I'll just stick with two eyeshadows).
  6. Blend the Showstopper in a circular motion with Sigma SS224.
  7. Use the pencil brush from Stila brush #15, and line lower lash line, starting from inner corner, with Half Baked about half-way down.
  8. Use the same brush, continue lining your lower lash line with Showstopper until outer corner.
  9. Line your upper lashline with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack with Sonia Kashuk Bent Eye Liner. I love this brush - It makes lining your eyes super duper easy!
  10. Line your water line also with Blacktrack using the same brush.
  11. Curl your lashes and apply Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara Black.
You are done with the eyes!

Lets move on to the face..

Urban Decay Setting Spray De Slick, e.l.f All Over the Stick in Golden Peach, Benefit Hoola Bronzer,
Palladio Rice Powder Natural, NARS Blush in Deep Throat, Misha Perfect BB Cream

Three brushes only! MAC 109, Sigma SS194, Sigma F84
As usual... ... ...
  1. Apply MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream No.23 Natural Beige SPF42 PA+++ (50ml) all over your face! I used Sigma F84 brush.
  2. Cover your dark circle with Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Medium with Sigma SS194.
  3. Smile, and take e.l.f All Over Stick in Golden Peach and apply it on your apple cheeks. You can use your fingers or Sigma F84 brush again.
  4. Pat Palladio Rice Powder in Natural with powder puff, concentrated on your T-zone area.
  5. Contour your cheeks with Benefit Hoola Bronzer with MAC 109. Also apply it on the side of your forehead, jaws, or whatever area where the sun hits.
  6. Sweep NARS Blush in Deep Throat for pinky cheeks with MAC 109.
  7. Spray Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray 4 fl oz (118 ml) and you are done!

Isn't this look so easy? You basically need to have two eyeshadows: Gold shimmer and matte brown. The Showstopper eyeshadow was limited edition, but honestly the color is not unique at all.. it is just a matte dark brown, no shimmer or glitter. I am pretty sure you can find these colors in drugstores, I saw tons of them.

What do you guys think of this look? Would you try it out? Let me know in the comment below!

Blue Gradation Look

Hey everyone!

I created a blue look, but it did not mean I was feeling blue! :) But, sometimes blue eyeshadows are one of the hardest color to be pulled off. Sometimes it can make you look too 80s, but surely you can pull it off and make it look flattering, plus wearable!

Let's get started..

Basically, eyeshadows that you need here are light blue, medium blue (optional), dark blue, and soft brown to tone it down. You will create a gradation blue.

see the gradation from light blue to dark?
Eyeshadows: MAC Tilt, MAC Prussian, MAC Contrast, MAC Cork, MAC Brule
Bottom: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, Rimmel Lash Accelerator, MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder

Up to Bottom: Sigma SS239, Sigma SS222, Sigma SS224, Sigma SS219

MAC Contrast
MAC Tilt
MAC Prussian
Left: MAC Cork, Right: MAC Brule

OK, enough for the pictures.. lets move on how to achieve this look!
  1. It is important to prime your eyes before placing any products in summer because your eyes tends to produce oil that can cause the eyeshadows from creasing. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube - Eden with my finger.
  2. With Sigma SS239, place MAC Tilt all over the eye lids.
  3. Take MAC Contrast (the darkest blue) and place it in the outer corner and a little bit in the crease with Sigma SS222.
  4. Blend the MAC Contrast with Sigma SS224 back and forth until there is no harsh line.
  5. Now let's create the gradation. Take the medium blue, MAC Prussian for example, and place it in the middle of your lid, between MAC Tilt and MAC Contrast, using Sigma SS239.
  6. For toning the blue down, take MAC Cork with Sigma SS224, and place it directly in the crease, then blend it.
  7. Take MAC Brule with the same brush Sigma SS224, and place it under your eyebrow.
  8. Take MAC Tilt again, but now with Sigma SS219, and place it under your lower lash line, starting from inner corner to the middle.
  9. With the same brush, place MAC Contrast in the outer corner of your lower lash line.
  10. Line your lash line and water line with MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder
  11. Curl lashes and put Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara Black mascara on!
You are done with the eyes!

Face time!

Misha Perfect BB Cream, Benefit Hoola Bronzer, Palladio Rice Powder Natural,
MAC Creamblend Blush in Something Special, MAC Blush in Melba,
Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Medium, Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

Left to Right: Sigma F80, Sigma SS190, MAC 109, Sigma SS194

  1. Always start off with your foundation. I was using MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream No.23 Natural Beige SPF42 PA+++ (50ml) with Sigma F80.
  2. Cover your dark circle up with Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Medium with a small concealer brush like Sigma SS194!
  3. Take a little bit of MAC Creamblend Blush in Something Special with your fingers, then place it in the apple of your cheeks. Blend it with Sigma F80.
  4. Set everything up with face powder, like Palladio Rice Powder in Natural, with powder puff - just pat it on your face.
  5. Contour your cheeks with Benefit Hoola Bronzer with MAC 109.
  6. Sweep MAC Blush in Melba, a soft coral color, in the apple of your cheeks with Sigma SS190.
  7. Set your make up with Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray 4 fl oz (118 ml)!
Now you are done!

A good thing about blue eyeshadows is somehow it really opens up your eyes! So, don't be afraid to wear blue eyeshadows.. I know sometimes it could be intimidating, but just follow these steps and you'll look stunning! :) I am planning to make another smokey blue tutorial.. what do you guys think?

Random facts about me: I always wanted to try a blue look since I loved using make up, but sometimes blue can be too dramatic, so I was always afraid to wear blue eyeshadows (and I also always bought blue clothing, thinking I could match it with my blue look on my eyes LOL). But finally, I could make blue eyeshadows wearable day to day, and you can too!

Will you try this look out? Let me know in the comment below!
