Revlon Lip Butter vs. L'Oreal Lip Balm

Hi loves! As I promised in my Target Haul post, I would be doing a comparison between Revlon Lip Butter and L'Oreal Lip Balm. Well, if you have read the post of my biggest two obsessions at the moment, you knew which one I loved the most :)

So, Revlon Lip Butter and L'Oreal Lip Balm have kinda the same purposes - they are a moisturizing and hydrating lip balms but it gives you more pigmentation that any other lip balms. I got the color Creamsicle for Revlon Lip Butter and Caramel Comfort for L'Oreal Lip Balm. Creamsicle is a peachy coral nude, whereas Caramel Comfort is a brownish nude.

The texture of Revlon Lip Butter is very smooth and buttery, and it gives shiny color on your pout, whereas L'Oreal Lip Balm is less shiny, but it also glides smoothly on your lip even though you have chapped lip.

Revlon Lip Butter comes in 20 shades, and L'Oreal comes in 8 shades, so Revlon definitely gives you more options.

Here is the pros and cons. Revlon Lip Butter has more pigmentation but it is not long wearing as L'Oreal. The Caramel Comfort does not even show up on my lip probably because I have super pigmented lip. However, I feel L'Oreal Lip Balm gives more hydration for a longer period of time than Revlon Lip Butter. I love the Creamsicle color so much, but it looks horrible when I have chapped lip. Whereas L'Oreal makes my lip looks smooth after I apply it into my dry lip.

Both of them give a soft and supple lip even after it is removed or fades away. By the way, I have to keep reapplying Revlon Lip Butter for almost every 30 minutes, and L'Oreal Lip Butter stays longer.

So if you did not have a pigmented lip, L'Oreal Lip Butter might be better for you. First because it moisturizes your lip more. Second the color might show up better on your lip. I personally like the Revlon better because I do need to tone down my lip color but I want to have my lip feel moisturized and look natural as well, and Revlon does all that to me.

Where to get: any drugstores, prices may vary, but Revlon is a little bit more expensive. I got Revlon Lip Butter for $6.49, and $5.99 for L'Oreal Lip Balm at Target.

Review: MAC In Extra Dimension Eyeshadows

MAC In Extra Dimension Eyeshadows
Hi beauties!!! I know this post is so overdue because my mind said that I have done this post before. I do not know where it came from, but I looked at my blog archives and just realized I haven't done this post yet. I know I have promised to you all on my MAC Haul post that I was gonna do a review on this, so I really really apologize to you all. MAC In Extra Dimension was a limited edition, but some MAC stores or counters still carry them if they have not sold out yet (or Nordstrom's site!). Anyway, the collection was not too exciting, so I just got two out of ten eyeshadows. It also came with three highlighters but I did not get any of them.

Basically, MAC In Extra Dimension has a new formula that can be used wet or dry. The texture is super smooth but I feel it does not have a good color payoff if you are using it dry. I used Sweet Heat before on my lid, and I swept a few strokes to get the desired color payoff. It is also described that it will last up to six hours, but I feel it starts to fade away after three hours and I even wore an eye primer before. It does not crease too bad though, but the color was not as striking as the first time I applied it.

The two eyeshadows that I got is Sweet Heat and Modern Pewter. Sweet Heat is metallic peach champagne color. Again, it does not have a good color payoff unless you use it wet. Modern Pewter is an olive gold with a hint of silver and grey. It is a very pretty color, and I actually just aimed for this eyeshadow :)

Overall, these eyeshadows are not bad. Even though they look more opaque and pigmented when you use it damp, you can achieve almost the same pigmentation when you use it dry. You just need a few strokes of it. In order to use it wet or damp, just splash a little bit of water or spray it with MAC Fix+ onto your brush, then take the eyeshadows and apply it directly onto your lid. The reason why I like it because of the texture. It runs very smoothly and glides easily. It is not chalky at all, and really gives you a beautiful metallic sheen on your eyes :)

Where to buy: MAC, $20 for 0.07 oz.

What do you think of these eyeshadows? Leave it or Love it? Please let me know in the comment below! Also, if you have any requests or questions, don't hesitate to contact me at all! Because I love to talk with you all! :)

My current two biggest obsessions!

Hi beauties!!! Today I want to show you two things that I am obsessed with currently, and I think these two will stay on my favorite list for a long time. If you have seen my Target haul post, you might be able to guess it because I got these all from there :)

First is the straw hat!! OMG I do not know why I just found this baby in the shelf. I mean I knew that straw hat existed, but I never thought that I would love it or I would even ever purchase one. I was always skeptical about it. I thought it would look weird on me because not a lot of people wearing it in where I live. But I tried it on, and fell in love. Now I could not stop wearing it, sometimes I even wear it inside my house, hee hee. You can find straw hats probably everywhere because they are so on trend right now. I even found it at some of gas stations, haha. Target and Forever 21 has a lot of good selections of types and colors and they are very inexpensive as well, so go check it out if you are interested :)

Second thing is Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle. I knew this product was launched a few months ago and I am so late to try it out. When it first came out, people were obsessed with it. I was doubt that the color would be pigmented enough to show up on my lip. Well I was wrong. It is very moisturizing, and I love the pigmentation! It does show up on my lip! I only purchased the Creamsicle and I love the color. It is a peachy coral nude, and it suits my skin tone the best. Love love love. You can get these lip butters at any drugstores and they have 13 different shades.
p/s: I will do a separate review on this, and I will compare it with L'Oreal Lip Balm :)

Review: YSL Shocking Mascara

Hi lovelies! So I just received a sample of YSL Shocking mascara from Sephora's 100 point reward gift, and I fall in love. I have always been a fan of YSL mascaras because they are really volumizing and lengthening, but the downside is they are very expensive. So, when Sephora has its free sample for 100 points, so of course I could not miss it.

When I am having a day off from work, it also means it is a free makeup day. If I have to go somewhere, I just put on mascara and I am good to go. So yesterday was my day off, and I wore this mascara, and I was literally shocked after one sweep of it. My lashes were twice longer and thicker. This is seriously a really wow product.

YSL Shocking mascara is supposed to exaggerate your lashes to make it like you are wearing false lashes. It also says that the amplified helix brush adds more volume to the lashes. The wand itself is not too big, not too small, I would say it is like a slim wand, which allows the application easier no matter if you have larger or smaller eyes. The wand is also the perfect size to coat lower lashes. It coats evenly and gives a more dramatic doll look.

I like to apply two to three coats of it to give me that faux lashes look. Also, the mascara won't clump your lashes, it gives you a wet look instead, although it is dry to the touch. And you know how sometimes you will have a few of black fall outs on your cheeks from mascara during the day? YSL Shocking won't give you that. I wore it for 12 hours and my lashes still looks the same as I applied it in the morning. It holds curl really well too.

It comes in four shades: Deep Black, Black Bronze, Sea Black and Cherry Black. And of course the one I have is the deep black one. The color is exactly how it says, it is the blackest black that gives your lashes a thicker and fuller look.

All YSL mascaras comes in a elegant gold tube, but I apologize I can't show you the full size one for now. I am considering to buy the full size one once I am done with the sample.

Overall, love love love this mascara. It is not only volumizing and lengthening, but it is also long-wearing and holds the curl for a long period of time. This is a perfect mascara for everyone, and I wish it would not be so expensive :( Especially you have to throw your mascara every three months and change into a new one.

Where to buy: Sephora, $30 for 0.2oz.

May MyGlam Bag

Hi loves!! My May MyGlam Bag has arrived and it is time to show it to you all. If you do not know what MyGlam is, it is basically a monthly subscription ($10) and every month you'll get different bags fill up with deluxe samples of beauty products. Sometimes they give out full size too!

I posted status on my Facebook yesterday telling you that this month's bag was not that exciting. None of them is my favorite :( I am pretty sad about it. A lot of people has recommended me to try Birchbox and Glossybox. What do you think of them? Let me know in the comment below!

So lets get through this month's bag!

I love the design of the bag, I think it is pretty cute. The bag feels as soft as silk with hot pink lips on it. Cute!

The first thing is a sample of Philosophy fragrance called Love Sweet Love. I am not a fan of fragrance, I never use one really. But for your records, this fragrance smells pretty good actually, it is more to the fruity scents, but it is also flirty at the same time :)

Second thing is a instant manicure strips from Miss Beauty Nail Bling - it is just like nail stickers where you just stick it into your nails. Actually this one is a pretty nice one if you are into manicure. You can just apply it in one finger as your statement nail and it will glam up your entire nails. There are 20 pieces inside, so it is a pretty decent amount of stickers!

Next one is a full-size of Studio Gear Complete Color Lipstick in Salsa, which is a red vampy shade. I don't have this kind of color in my lipstick collection, so it is good to have one. It says that it contains hyaluronic acid and folic acid, which can moisturize your lip, as well as vitamin B to plump up your lip. I have not tried this one out yet, so I have no clue if it really does its job or if it is long wearing. But of course I will give you guys an update on this! :)

Last but not least is of course the MyGlam brushes! I think they will include brushes on each month bag until we collect all of them, hee hee. So this month's brushes are a concealer brush, which is the larger one, and a defining eyeliner brush for the smaller size one. Since the bristles are dense and tapered, you can use them to apply cream eyeshadows or even a lipstick. So they are pretty versatile and I always love the pink handles! :)

So what are your thoughts about May Glam Bag? Should go on or move on? LOL. Let me know in the comment below! And please add me as your friends on Facebook and Twitter! :)

Target Haul

Hi beauties! It has been a long time since I have done a haul post. Well, the fact is I don't do too much shopping lately, which is good for my savings, right? ;)

My best friend, Vina, came to town yesterday, so we had lunch, got ice cream, and we went to our favorite place, Target. I did not plan to get anything, but of course I would not be empty-handed once I got off from Target, hee hee. So I got a few things, and I want to share with you all!

The first thing I got is this straw hat. I have been wanting a straw hat for the longest time in my life. Also, straw hats are so in trend right now! I thought it would not look good on me, but I tried it on, and I love it at the first sight. Vina also said I look good with it, so I 'added to cart...' It wasn't that expensive either, I believe it was $12.99. Target has so many kinds, but I picked this one because it is simple and will match with any outfit I have. FYI, Forever 21 sells them too, and some of them are cheaper :)

The next one is Neutrogena All-in-One Acne Control ($9.99). I saw this in magazine before and was really curious about it. You guys know I have problems of acne and acne scars, and this facial treatment says that it can fade the appearance of acne marks as well as clear present acne. Also, it can prevent future breakouts. How cool? It is like everything you need to get a clear skin. So I do not know yet if this really works, but of course I will let you know!

Okay I might be SO late on this, but I finally decided to try out these two babies. The left one is Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Creamsicle ($7.49), and L'Oreal Lip Balm SPF 15 in Caramel Comfort ($7.95). Both are pretty nude-ish shades because my lip is so pigmented that I need to tone it down, haha. Anyway, the reason why I bought these two was because I could not decide which one was better. Don't worry, I will surely let you know and do a comparison between these two :)

Let me know what you were hauling recently! I always loveeee to see what others get :) You can comment in the comment below, or post on my Facebook wall, tweet me on Twitter!

Meet my new roommate ;)

Hi lovelies!! Do you remember this post: Is the teddy bear too big or am I too small?  Yeah that giant teddy bear at Costco? Guess what.. One of the teddy bears is lucky and living with me now.

Let me introduce you...

This is TEDDY
I could not think of any other names.

No I did not buy it, but I got it as my birthday gift! (My birthday was in May 18th, in case you're wondering, hee hee).

Teddy is too big, and it is impossible for him to share bed with me because I don't have a king-size bed, hee hee. So he has to stay in my living room instead. Because of his giant size, I can sit on his lap while reading books or on my computer, how fun!

Anyway, sorry for this super random post, I might have bored you out. Just want to give you an update of my daily life! :p

LOVE YOU ALL,
Alexandra & Teddy

Review: Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick

Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick

First I want to say, I MISS YOU ALL!! I have been working so much lately, and today is my only day's off! So I really apologize to you.. I hope I can be back on track, and post as many as posts like I used to. But seriously, I do miss you all. And I want to ask a favor from you.. please let me know what are your requests! That way it is easier for me to post something and to update my blog more frequent. Just ask me any questions and let me know your requests in the comment below, or you can tweet me and 'facebook' me! ;)

Okay so today's review is a lip product from Kat Von D from the Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick collection. I need to post this because this is the MOST pigmented liquid lipstick I have ever seen. You know that I am not a fan of lipstick because it will stay on my lip for maybe 10 minutes, but I love liquid lipstick, even though probably it will just stay for 5 minutes. Haha.

Liquid lipstick is not a lipgloss, though. The consistency is like a lipstick, but in liquid formula. So there is no shine or sparkles like most lipglosses do. Not many cosmetic companies have liquid lipstick in their lines, MAC came twice called Kissable Lipcolours (limited edition) and I love them because the finish and the formula, but they are not long-wearing and as pigmented as regular lipsticks give (click here to see their reviews). Well Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks are totally different ones. They are so rich and pigmented, and long-wearing.

I only got one shade called Outlaw, and it is a brick-red color. As you can see in the swatches below, the color is so bold and vibrant. First you apply it, it will feel wet like liquid, and the next few minutes, it will get dry and stay in your pout for as long as you want. It will not go away until you remove it with makeup remover.

The texture is very smooth as well once you apply it. It will not give you shine because it dries in a matte finish. It is like staining your lip. After it dries, it won't smudge or move anyway. This liquid lipstick in incredible! You know how Kat Von D always has a signature red lipstick, I think she's using the Outlaw liquid lipstick, hee hee.

I can't say much about how great it is. I actually plan to get some more colors. So, if you are on the market to find a liquid lipstick, this one is for you. It has six shades, range from pink to nude, coral to red. I want to get all of the shades if I have money! Haha (I will let you know when I have collected all of the shades, and I will swatch them all for you).

Where to buy: Sephora, $19 for 0.18oz.

What do you think of this product? Will you try it out in the future? ;) Let me know in the comment below! And don't forget to post your questions and requests!

Review: MUFE Lab Shine Lip Gloss Star Collection

MUFE Lab Shine Star Collection in S4

Have you ever tried Make Up For Ever Lip Gloss before? Well this is my first time trying it out, so I think I'd let you know my first impression about it.

So, Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Lab Shine Lip Gloss comes in three collections: Diamond, Star and Metal. The one that I got is S4 from the Star Collection, which is a pink beige with gold pearl. The Star Collection itself has 14 different shades, with each of them has pearly shine with medium coverage.

This lip gloss gives your pout an extreme shine which will add volume to it. I feel the coverage is very sheer, especially if you have a pigmented lip like me, the color won't show up in your lip. Even though it claims that it provides medium coverage, it might only work for those who have non-pigmented lips. So what I do is I put on a nude lipstick (or whatever lipstick I use at that moment), then I put the lip gloss on top of it as the finishing touch.

The reason why I like it is because it is actually pretty long wearing. It lasted for two to three hours on my lip. Also, when you put it on, it does not feel dry or uncomfortable, it actually pretty moisturizes your lip. However, according to my experience, once the lip gloss was worn off from my lip, I got dry, chapped lip after that.

In addition, it has a slight apricot scent to it, but it is not too overwhelming, and it really does add volume to my lip, so it looks bigger. Since it is a pretty long wearing lip gloss, the texture is pretty sticky, but it does not make your lip feel uncomfortable like you have glue on it.

So far, it has become my go-to lip gloss. If I need an extra oomph that day, I'd grab this and apply it onto my lip.

Where to buy: Sephora, $18 for 0.09oz.

What is your favorite lip gloss at the moment? Leave in the comment below! And make sure you have entered my MAC GIVEAWAY. It is FREE to enter, just click here ;)

Lets be friends, lovelies!! You can contact me as much as you want ;)
