Top 5 MAC Eyeshadows Must Haves

Hi lovelies! If you are a starter in the makeup world, and want to collect MAC eyeshadows, today I am going to be showing you top 5 that you must have on your makeup kit! MAC is famous for their pigmented eyeshadows and a beauty addict like me always tries to collect all of them! But they are too many and can be a little bit overwhelming, don't you think? I don't have all the MAC eyeshadows, and I stop buying it right now unless there is something I like. So, I hope this post will guide you what to buy first, but I won't limit you on what you should buy. I just think these five eyeshadows are the most basic ones and you gotta have them ;) So let's get started!

MAC All That Glitters

MAC All That Glitters
First eyeshadow is All That Glitters. It is a shimmery beige champagne with gold flecks, and has a veluxe pearl finish. You can use this as a lid color, highlight color on your browbone and inner tear duct of your eye.

MAC Expensive Pink

MAC Expensive Pink
MAC Expensive Pink is the most beautiful and unique pink shade I have ever seen. It is a dark pink with gold sparkle and also has veluxe pearl finish. It is shimmery, but not too much. It is the most neutral peachy pink in my opinion.

MAC Satin Taupe

MAC Satin Taupe
Rather than choosing a boring brown shade, MAC Satin Taupe is the most perfect and unique color in the brown shade. It is a taupe color with a hint of purple and grey and silver shimmer. This is perfect if you want to create a smokey eye without using regular browns or blacks. It is pretty on the lid, and on the crease as well.

MAC Cork

MAC Cork
MAC Cork looks like a boring medium brown shade, but it is the most perfect color to blend eyeshadows on your lid or crease. It is a muted golden brown with matte finish. I love this eyeshadow especially for blending. So, if you have dark eyeshadows on your lid or crease, apply MAC Cork on top of it with a fluffy blending brush using a windshield wiper motion. It will give you the smoothest finish, making your eye makeup look more supple.

MAC Beauty Marked

MAC Beauty Marked
MAC Beauty Marked is also a really unique shade. It looks like a lot of glitters, but it won't make your eye looks like a disco ball. When you take it with your brush, the glitter will come off in a super tiny amount. MAC Beauty Marked is a black purple with velvet finish. It will look chalky when you swatch it, but it picks up the color better when you use a brush. I love this color to darken my outer corner. It won't make it too dramatic like you're wearing a black eyeshadow.

Left to Right: MAC Beauty Marked, MAC Cork, MAC Satin Taupe, MAC Expensive Pink, MAC All That Glitters

Where to buy: MAC, $15 for 0.05oz

So that's all my top 5 MAC eyeshadow must haves! Do you have any of these? Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comment below! And please follow me on Twitter and Facebook, so that we can communicate ;)

How-to: Get a Glowy Silky Smooth Leg!

Hi lovelies! Today I want to share my tip with you on how to get your legs looking smooth and glowy. You might have known or done this method before, but who knows some of you don't know yet, hee hee. I actually have acknowledged it for a long time, but I never really apply it to myself. I don't know why, but I think it was because I was kinda skeptical about the result was going to be not much difference whether I do the method or not.

So, all you need is body scrub, shaving cream and razor, and a body lotion. That's it, and I am pretty sure you have had all of them in your shower! :)

Skin Smoothing Shower Gelee in Sweet Pea from Bath and Body Works, St. Ives Purify Exfoliating Body Wash from CVS, Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub from Lush

First, all you need to do is exfoliate your whole body with body scrub. You can use loofah if you want to, but using your hands is totally fine.

Pure Silk Moisturizing Shaving Cream in Raspberry Mist, Venus SPA Breeze 2-in-1 Razor
Second step is the shaving step! Apply a generous amount of your favorite shaving cream, do one part at a time. I like to do my legs first, then move on to my arms and body. Because if you apply shaving cream all over your body, your shower will wash it out and you have to apply more products, which means you're gonna waste it (unless you turn off your shower, hee hee). I love this Pure Silk Moisturizing Shaving Cream that I got it at Walmart. I bought the twin pack for $2.98, and it lasts forever (I bought it maybe like 4 months ago, and I even have not gone through the first bottle)! It really does what it says - my skin feels so smooth, clean, and moisturized. Best $3 I have ever spent.

The razor that I am using is from Venus SPA Breeze 2-in-1 Razor, which is actually not necessary to be used with a shaving cream, but I feel it shaves better and cleaner with shaving cream.

Then, after you finish shaving, rinse it off then apply your body wash like usual.

Curel Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion from drugstore, Moonlight Path Triple Moisture Body Cream, Sweet Pea Body Butter, and Wild Honeysuckle Triple Moisture Body Cream - all from Bath and Body Works

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer from drugstore
After you got off from the shower and dried up your body with towel, apply your favorite body lotion! Body lotion locks the moisture on your body and keeps your skin stay hydrated. You can also replace body lotion with your self-tanner if you want to look tan. This is the best time to apply self-tanner because you just scrubbed and shaved your body so that you can get an even and smooth application.

The good thing if you do this method is not only you'll get a smooth silky leg, but also it makes the hair grows slower. I did all of these steps four days ago, and the hair on my legs has not even grown yet, except on my arms. And until this second, my skin still feels so smooth and silky and I did not apply body lotion since four days ago. My skin never feels so hydrated and smooth like this before, I can't even stop starring at it now, haha.

Beauty Basic: Honey for your skin

Hi beauties! Lets talk about honey today. You may not know about this yet, but honey isn't only sugar, but it is actually really beneficial for your skin. I use honey on my face all the time. I love doing DIY face masks or scrubs, and I always include honey and olive oil on it (click here to read about olive oil). They are the best pair that you can get for healthy skin. So lets get started!

Benefits of Honey
Honey facial has been discovered for hundreds of years, and I heard even Cleopatra used it to keep her skin a glow. The first major thing that honey contains is its antibiotic. You know bees use different enzymes to create antibiotic and antimicrobial environment to keep their honey fresh, so that they can feed their young. These antibiotic and antimicrobial factors are actually able to clean our skin and boost our immune system. So, honey is not only able to heal wounds, scrapes and burns, but also can heal acne. Honey is an antibacterial agent, and do you know why we have acne? Acne is caused by bacteria, perhaps we touched our face too much, or we did not wash it clearly, and these kind of actions allows the bacteria to grow. And because honey has an antibacterial property, it will kill the bacteria. Also, honey is anti inflammatory agent, so if you have redness, it will reduce the redness on your face.

In addition, honey contains a high amount of antioxidant. The antioxidant properties can fight the free radicals from the sun and environmental damage. Remember how I talked about sun damage on the sunscreen's post before (click here to read)? These free radicals can be found from many sources (the air, food, etc), but commonly it was from the sun UV rays, and they can cause skin aging and cancer. Honey is rich of antioxidant and hence can eliminate these dangerous radicals to support the body's immune system, reverse aging and prevent cancer.

Honey is an effective natural moisturizing agent to your skin. Especially if you have dry skin, honey helps the skin to stay hydrated. Because honey is rich and thick, it is able to bind the moisture to your skin, smoothes dry, rough skin, and plumps up wrinkles. So no wonder if these days skin care companies always include honey on their moisturizer products, because it is really a powerful agent to moisturize our skin.

How to Use Honey on Our Face?
Like I mentioned above, I like to use honey for face mask and scrubs. There are tons of way to use honey for these, I am going to share with you my honey facial recipes! :) p.s. there are no exact amount of the measurement, just approximate the amount of how much it can cover your whole face.

Face mask
Mix honey with olive oil in a bowl, and apply it to all over your face. If you want an extra hydration, add a little bit of whole milk. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse it off, and ta-da! No more redness or dry skin! Sometimes I like to add sea salt into the mix because it is an effective agent to get rid of acne. If you have leftover from the mix, apply it to your body, and use it like a body scrub :)

Face scrub
Mix honey with olive oil and sugar (you can use oatmeal or ground almonds instead of sugar). You can use granulated sugar or brown sugar, but please no splenda, hee hee. You can also put these ingredients in a small container, so that you can save it for later use. After you washed your face with your regular cleanser, gently scrub your face with the mix. Rinse it off, and your skin will be as smooth as baby's butt! Hee hee.
Since it is only olive oil, honey and sugar, so it won't expire soon. And remember, don't scrub your face too frequent. Maximum twice a week, but I only do once a week, so that the skin has longer time to renew.

Lip Balms
Have chapped lip? Just put honey before you sleep, and you will have a smooth lip in the morning! :)

Hair mask
Just like the face mask, mix the honey and olive oil together. After you washed your hair with shampoo, apply the mix onto your hair and leave it for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse it off, and your hair will be shiny and smooth like silk :)

Overall, honey can cleanse your face and add nutrients to your skin. It has rich natural antioxidant properties to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Most importantly, it will not rip off your waller ;) So, why not add honey to your skin routine to smooth and clear skin? :)

Have you ever tried facial honey before? If you have, share with me your recipe! :) If you haven't, will you try this out? ;) Let me know in the comment below! please follow me on Twitter and add me as your friend on Facebook, I'd love to get to know you more ;)

The Perfect Pink Pout (my favorite lip combo!)

Hi lovelies! I want to do a quick share with you all about these two lipsticks that I always use them together as a pair, and I have used it for maybe straight five months. If you see my tutorials and I have a pink lip, those might be the lipsticks that I am going to show you in a moment. I swear to you that I don't use any other lipsticks these past few months, so of course I have to share with you about my new obsession! :)

The first lipstick is from MAC called Creme d' Nude, and the other one is from Maybelline Color Sensational called Pink Please. I am not sure if Pink Please is still available because I bought it maybe two years ago, but you still can buy it at Amazon! :)

MAC Creme d' Nude is a peachy beige nude with cremesheen finish, so it is really creamy and goes on smooth, whereas Maybelline Pink Please is a pale pink, almost like soft salmon color. These two lipsticks are so pigmented, and if you have a quite pigmented lip like me, they will really change up your whole look. I also mentioned before that lipstick is not my favorite product because I don't feel like it is long-wearing on my lip. However, whenever I wear this pair of lipsticks, it lasts for me two to three hours without any touch-up.

Basically what I like to do is to apply MAC Creme d' Nude first, then Maybelline Pink Please on top of it. But sometimes I switched the order, but I like if MAC Creme d' Nude is applied first. I always wear lip balm before I put on any lipsticks, so that the lipsticks will glide on smoothly.

You really don't have to use the exact products I use. You can find a nude and a pink lipstick everywhere. Just try to find a nude lipstick with a hint of beige/brown, and for the pink, try to get a darker pink, like hot pink or peachy pink, because light pink usually has a blue undertone to it, so the result won't look as good as if you use darker pink shade. Once you get these two shades, you'll be able to create the perfect pink lip ;)

p/s: I left them in the car for a few days, and now my Creme d' Nude has broken apart :( (because of the weather heat). That's okay... I'll just use it with extra care and gentle when I apply it on my lip, hee hee.

Where to buy: MAC, $14.50 for 0.1oz. Amazon, $2.15 for 0.15oz.

Do you mix lip colors? What is your favorite combination? Leave in the comment below! And please add me as your friend on Facebook ;) or if you have a Twitter account, please follow me too!! :)

Review: MAC Blush Pink Tea from Tres Cheek Collection

Hi lovelies!! First of all, I want to apologize for the lack of posts these days. I have been so busy with work and finally I have decided to stay at my current apartment! YAY! I know it might be a simple decision to make, but not for me... So now I am going to try to post more like I used to do! I miss you guys!

Okay, so today's review is one of the blushes from MAC Tres Cheek collection. I think it was released last month, but is still available right now, both online and stores. So if you are interested in the blush that I am gonna be reviewing today, this is the right time to get it ;)

MAC Tres Cheek includes six blushes with all having satin finishes. In my opinion, satin finished blush is the better than matte or shimmer because the texture is soft and it won't accentuate any imperfections you might have like redness, acne, etc. Sometimes when I wear a shimmery blush, my pimples will look more obvious -_-"

The six blushes are Pink Tea (neutral beiged pink), Immortal Flower (bright peach), Full of Joy (lavender), Lovecloud (bright mid-tone pink), Modern Mandarin (red-orange), Peony Petal (bright blue pink).

MAC Pink Tea Blush is a pale pink color with neutral hue and it kinda has a slight greyish tone too. The color payoff is not that good, not as pigmented as it looks in the pan. It takes me three layers on my cheeks to really get the color. If you go to the store to swatch it, you'll see that Pink Tea and Lovecloud are really similar. I took me five minuted in the store to tell the difference. Lovecloud is warmer and could be more pigmented because it is a brighter pink, but don't quote me on that.

I swatched all of the six blushes in the collection when I was at the store, and Pink Tea has the sheerest coverage and the most natural pink shade. The texture is really soft, it applies beautifully and non-chalky. It blends easily as well. I have a pale skin, and Pink Tea really looks natural on my cheeks and not too overwhelming. So if you have pale fair complexion like me and you are looking for a neutral pink blush, Pink Tea is for you. If you have a darker complexion, I think it will take more layering to build up the coverage, it will just give you more work to do.

So overall, I love this blush because it can be go-to everyday blush. It has a really neutral pink that won't look too 'fake' on your cheeks. However, I don't love it because it takes more products to get the color payoff on my cheeks, which means more work to do and more products to waste. It is pretty long-wearing as well, it holds up to six to seven hours. So, if you are a beginner in the makeup world, and in the market for a neutral blush, this one could be for you, because the coverage is sheer, so you can build up its intensity until you are satisfied ;)

Where to buy: MAC, $20 for 0.21oz.

What do you think of this blush? Love it or leave it? Let me know in the comment below! :) And don't forget to follow me on Twitter and add me as your friend on Facebook! :)
