BEST Drugstore Liquid Foundation (and FULL coverage too!)

Hi beauties!

I am going to be honest with you guys, I always invest my money on skin care products and a good foundation. Most of my foundations are pretty much high-end and actually that was the wrong things to collect them! I like to try different foundations, and I changed my foundation like I change clothes. I used to use different foundations everyday, and my skin was not very happy for that. Also, germs grow on liquid foundation faster than on powder, so I could not use my older foundations anymore right now and that is such a waste of money. They are still halfway full, and there is nothing I could do about it (unless I want to have a pimply face ;p). So, if I can suggest you, please just stick with one or two foundations so that you can use them up and buy a new different one in the future! ;)

*Wow..that was a long intro.* Like I said before, I liked to purchase a high-end foundation because of my stupid thought that the pricier the better the quality (how stupid is that?). Well the foundation that I am going to show you today is different! Finally I could open my mind to drugstores foundations that they also have the same quality as the high-end ones, and the best thing is: they are not expensive! The reason why I did not purchase foundations from drugstores was because I felt I could not find my color because there is no testers that I can swatch with. Also, a lot of people have sneaked to open it and try it out, so you never know which one was touched (germs warning!).

So, I was at Walgreens a few months ago and I have been eying for Revlon ColorStay Foundation for a very long time because I heard so many people liked it. Since I could not swatch it at the store, so I just risked my self to pick one that (I thought) was closed to my skin tone.

I went home, tried it on, and..... AMAZING!!!

You guys seriously need to try this. It is a FULL coverage foundation, and it makes your skin looks flawless without making it look cakey. It has a matte finish, does not feel heavy, and is long wearing. It also a little goes a long way, you only need a tiny bit of it and it will cover your entire face. If you have acne scars or redness, this foundation will cover it up, makes your skin looking smooth! It says that it has SPF 6 and SPF won't make you look good on camera. But I used it when I went to my friend's birthday and there was a lot of cameras going on there. My face did not look wash out at all. I think it was because the SPF is so low that the light from the camera flash won't have an effect for it. So, it is a pretty safe photo ready foundation.

The bottle says it wears up to 16 hours, which is true. I wore it for the entire day and night, and it still did not move until I removed it. ColorStay Foundation comes in two kinds: for combination/oily skin and dry skin. I obviously purchased the combo/oily skin because I will always get oily on my T-zone area. However, this foundation does not control my oiliness really well. After wearing it for maybe 12 hours, my T-zone area starts to get oily. But it won't make me look like a grease ball, so that's okay!

The bad thing about this foundation is there is no pump! So you have to use your finger and flip the bottle back and forth to get the product out. The result, you either will get too much or not enough. When you want to add more products, it will run quickly than the first time resulting foundation all over your finger. And if you feel it is too much of a product, you might want to put it back inside the bottle again. This will cause bacteria grows faster (don't worry, I do the same thing too because I feel it is unfortunate to wipe and toss it out :().

Overall, love love love this foundation! I tried other drugstore foundations too before, but I never liked them. But this one is different and a lot of people always asked me, "what foundation are you wearing?" So if you are looking for a full coverage, inexpensive foundation, please try Revlon ColorStay foundation. It has 20 different shades you can choose from, so you can't go wrong with that. But always save the receipt when you buy it, you never know if it won't match your skin tone, so you can always return/exchange it :) Oh, if you have a fair skin with yellow undertone like me, go with 300 Golden Beige shade.

Where to buy: any drugstores, $11.99 for 1 oz.

    1. OMG I am the exact same things. I use BB Cream as foundation for the day, and if I go out at night, I'd use Revlon ColorStay. <3

  3. I bought this foundation yesterday after reading your review a weeks ago and omg it is amazing!! Haha, the smell is really strong if you smell it from the bottle but after you've applied it it's not as strong and actually smells quite nice. I think this is my first Revlon foundation and I love it! When it's on your face, it doesn't feel heavy and like you, mine is Sand Beige and for oily and combination skin and it looks not too dewy but quite matte on your skin ^_^. The only thing is the bottle because it makes it hard for me to pour the liquid out (I don't wanna pour out too much) and also it can dry really quickly on your skin but that can also be a good thing haha.

    1. I am so glad you tried it out!! I know I love it too, but seriously they really need a pump for its bottle, I always got so much out unintentionally. Yeap and sometimes you don't need powder to set it up, but just in case, use light translucent powder, especially it is summer and so hot.. you'll never know when your makeup is going to melt :p <3

  4. How do you apply it? With your fingers? A sponge or brush?

  5. You can use a stippling brush for a flawless look or your fingers for a natural look:)

  6. I'm a freelance makeup artist, and I use Revlon ColorStay for days (at work) and Estee Lauder Double Wear for nights. To prevent the dreaded "white face," you can simply use an HD primer before applying your foundation. Try Smashbox or Makeup Forever; Both have great HD primers that can prevent a photo faux pas.

  7. Hi. I use a q tip to apply. Dip in the bottle and dot on face and then blend with a foundation brush. It also keeps germs and bacteria out of your bottle. :)

  8. Hi I have tried the revlon color stay whipped foundation and it was just way to oily my skin is already oily and literally 2 hours (if that) after I put my make up on it looked completely rubbe off even though I set it with powder so maybe this foundation would be better I think I will try it!
