Review:MAC Vera "Flower Fantasy" Pearlmatte Face Powder (with photos and swatches)

Hello loves! First of all, I want to apologize for all the review posts I have done these days. There are just too many things to review, but don't worry, tutorials and all the fun stuff will be up soon too!

So, quick review for today is from the Vera collection by MAC - that is the Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flower Fantasy. It comes with two different shades: Flower Fantasy and Sunday Afternoon. As I mentioned in my haul post earlier (click here if you haven't seen it), Flower Fantasy is a more peachy pink color, while Sunday Afternoon is a more bright pink color. I personally like peachy pink blush because it suits my skin tone best.

Flower Fantasy is described as "pale coral with slight gold pearl/slight blue pale pink/soft pale salmon." As you can see in the picture, the largest shade is a dark coral with a little of brown, the middle part is a pale rosy pink, and the last shade is a peach champagne color with shimmer. When you swirl your blush brush on all of these three shades, you'll get a subtle peachy pink with a shimmer-sheen finish.

As the pigmentation goes, it is not quite a vibrant color. The texture itself is really soft and smooth, and it is easy to blend as well. The bottom shade on the palette has the most shimmer in it, so if you want to create a shimmery blush color, you can use it more, and vice versa. Personally I like a subtle sheen finish, so I will use the bottom shade less. You can also take a small brush like MAC 224 or Sigma E40 to only take the bottom shade and apply it above the cheekbones, under the brow bone, or anywhere you want as a highlight color. It really gives you a decent amount of shimmer.

Overall, I love it just because there are three options of pretty blush shades that you can choose whether by swirling it individually or together. This is more like a multitask product, and who doesn't love that? :)

Where to buy: MAC counters, MAC stores, MAC website. $28 for 0.42oz.

  1. when it's mixed together, the color is really nice although not sure about the shimmery (at least i don't like it much for everyday wear). still looks good

    1. Haha I don't really like shimmery blush either, but the last shade has a subtle shimmer, not too much of it. And you can just swirl your brush onto the first two shades only. Aww thank you for the compliment love! :)
